Dr. Greg Taylor

Practice Owner

Dr. Taylor grew up in El Dorado, Arkansas. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Central Arkansas and attended Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2004. He has been practicing as a veterinarian in Hot Springs and the surrounding areas ever since. Dr. Taylor opened Temperance Hill Animal Hospital in 2012. He and his wife, Jennifer, have a son, Nash, and a daughter, June. They have three dogs, Scout, Smalls, and Roscoe, and four cats, Boo Radley, Calpurnia, Lula, and Ralph. Dr. Taylor enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time on the lake.

Dr. Robin Viscardis

Veterinarian

Dr. Viscardis is originally from Magnolia, Arkansas. She graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1993 and Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. Dr. Viscardis has practiced small animal medicine and surgery her entire career in Hot Springs and has been with Temperance Hill Animal Hospital since 2014. She and her husband, Craig, have three sons. In her free time, Dr. Viscardis enjoys running, time on the lake, watching her boys play soccer, and vacationing with family. Her family has a Miniature Australian Shepherd, Kona, and three cats, Ace, Mickey, and Ocho.

Dr. Dent Burks

Veterinarian

Dr. Burks is originally from Tennessee and graduated in 1980 from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, where he was inducted into Phi Zeta, the Honor Society of Veterinary Medicine. He has been practicing small animal medicine and surgery in Hot Springs since 1984. He and his wife, Myra, have two children and three grandchildren, as well as two dogs and five grand dogs. In his spare time, Dr. Burks enjoys fishing, scuba diving and reading veterinary journals.

Tipps
Dr. Tipps

Veterinarian

Dr. Tipps grew up in Murfreesboro, TN. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Health Sciences from Lincoln Memorial University and then moved to Athens, GA, where she attained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 2024. She and her husband moved to Hot Springs in July. They have one rambunctious aussiedoodle named Deaux. In her free time, she enjoys playing pickleball and baking all kinds of goodies.

Dr. Leverenz

Veterinarian

Dr. Leverenz received her Bachelor of Science degree from Fontbonne University in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 2008 and went on to complete an internship at a specialty veterinary hospital in Southeast Florida. Much of her experience was gained during her time at a busy practice in New York City before spending 7 years at Merrifield Animal Hospital near Washington DC. Most recently, Dr. Leverenz helped provide veterinary care for explosive detection canines in the Middle Wast as part of an anti-terrorism assistance program. She is thrilled to be in Hot Springs and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, reading, and jogging with her Doberman.

Courtney Flickinger

Veterinary Assistant/Manager

Courtney is from Illinois, but she moved to Arkansas in 2001. She graduated from Bismarck High School. Courtney is married and has two daughters. She has two Labradors and a St. Bernard. Courtney enjoys working with animals, and in her spare time, she likes to spend time with family, friends, and her fur babies outdoors.

Betty Roberts

Veterinary Assistant

Betty has been married to David for over 50 years. She has three kids and three grandchildren. Betty has been working with animals since 1968 and has loved every minute of it! She came to work for Dr. Taylor two weeks after Temperance Hill Animal Hospital opened.

Gayla Rice

Receptionist

Gayla grew up in Northeast Arkansas. She taught special education for 27 years before retiring three years ago and moving to Hot Springs. Gayla has two children and one granddaughter as well as a grand dog and grand cat.

Charlene
Charlene Green

Veterinary Assistant

Charlene was born and raised in California and moved to Hot Springs in 2012. She has 17 chickens, one rooster, one guinea pig, two rabbits, two betas, one goldfish, four dogs, and six cats. In addition to her brood of animals, Charlene and her husband, Anthony, have three children: Marques, Aaron, and Kaley. Clearly, working with animals is the perfect job for Charlene!

Brittany Halverson

Receptionist

Brittany was born in Pine Bluff and relocated to Hot Springs in 1998. She graduated from Lakeside High School in 2004. Brittany and her husband, Ron, have two daughters, Autumn and Katalina, a son, Knox, and an English Bulldog named Beast. She has been a lover of animals her whole life and has always wanted to work with them.

Amanda Mallonee

Hospital Manager

Amanda Mallonee was born and raised in California. In her twenties, she moved to MD and then North Carolina, where she worked as a Practice Manager for Banfield for nearly 19 years. She started as a CSC, then quickly became manager of several Banfield Pet Hospitals while training staff in many roles. In 2014, she was awarded Practice Manager of the Year for Banfield. In 2020, when covid hit, Amanda had the opportunity to move to HI in a whole new career. After several years, she then moved back to her hometown in OC, California, for treatment of breast cancer but also to become her father’s caregiver, the most important role of her life. When her father passed a few years later, 2024, she moved to Hot Springs to be with her twin sister, where she was offered management position here at Temperance Hill Animal Hospital.

Amanda is also a Certified Personal trainer and Nutrition Coach, and she teaches many classes at the YMCA in Hot Springs. When she’s not working, she is spending precious time with her best buddy Bentley, a golden chow mix, and volunteering at the church.
